SideLinQ Android Setup: Complete Guide

The entire setup takes 2-3 minutes. You need a phone running Android 7.0 or later, the HAPP app, and Telegram. No technical knowledge, no servers, no configuration files to edit.

What do you need before starting?

You need three things: a phone running Android 7.0 or newer, Telegram installed, and access to Google Play (or the ability to install an APK file). The entire process happens on your phone. No computer required.

HAPP is an Android app that works with the VLESS+Reality protocol. It is free and available on Google Play. All your traffic passes through it, disguised as a regular HTTPS connection.

Step 1: How do you install HAPP?

Open the Google Play Store on your phone and search for "HAPP." The developer is listed as happ.su. Tap "Install" and wait for the download to finish.

If Google Play is unavailable in your region, download the APK from the official website happ.su. Before installing, enable installation from unknown sources in Android settings: Settings > Security > Unknown sources.

Tip: Only install HAPP from Google Play or the official happ.su website. Do not download APKs from third-party sources.

Step 2: How do you get a link from the Telegram bot?

Open Telegram and find the bot @SideLinQ_bot. Tap "Start" or send the /start command. The bot will display a main menu with available actions.

Choose a plan and payment method. After payment, the bot sends a link starting with vless://. This is your personal access key. Do not share it with others.

The link contains all necessary parameters: server address, port, encryption keys, and Reality settings. You do not need to enter anything manually.

Step 3: How do you import the link into HAPP?

The simplest method: tap the link directly in Telegram. Android will offer to open it in HAPP. Confirm, and the profile is added automatically.

If automatic import does not work, copy the link manually. Open HAPP, tap "+" in the top right corner, and select "Import from clipboard." The app will recognize the link and create a connection profile.

After import, a new entry appears in the profile list. The name will contain the server name. If you have multiple subscriptions, each one appears as a separate profile.

Step 4: How do you connect?

Select the imported profile from the list by tapping it. Then tap the large connect button at the bottom of the screen. On the first connection, Android will request permission to create a VPN connection. Tap "OK."

After connecting, a key icon appears in the status bar. This is the standard Android indicator showing that traffic is routed through a secure connection. All your traffic is now masked as HTTPS.

Done! Open your browser and check access to the sites you need. The connection stays active as long as the key icon is visible in the status bar.

How do you verify everything is working?

After connecting, open your browser and visit any previously blocked site. If the page loads, the connection is working correctly.

For an additional check, open site.sidelinq.net/en/my-ip/ and check your IP address. It should differ from your regular IP and show a different country.

You can test connection speed at fast.com or speedtest.net. In most cases, speed loss is minimal.

What should you do if the connection fails?

First-time setup issues are rare, but they resolve quickly. Here are the main situations and their solutions.

HAPP will not connect

Check that the internet works without HAPP. Open a browser and try visiting any site. If there is no internet, the problem is not with the app.

Make sure the link was copied completely. It should start with vless:// and end with a set of parameters. An incomplete link will not work.

Connection establishes but sites do not load

Try switching the DNS in HAPP settings. Open the app settings and set DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8. Sometimes the ISP DNS blocks requests even with an active connection.

Connection drops frequently

Disable battery optimization for HAPP. Android may close the app in the background to save power. Path: Settings > Apps > HAPP > Battery > Unrestricted.

On Xiaomi, Huawei, and Samsung phones, there are additional power management features. Add HAPP to the exceptions list. The exact path varies by model, but it is usually Settings > Battery > App management.

Speed is slow

Try requesting a link with a different server through the Telegram bot. Speed depends on the distance to the server and its load. European servers are typically faster for users in the CIS region.

How do you disconnect?

Open HAPP and tap the disconnect button. The key icon disappears from the status bar. Traffic returns to going directly through your ISP.

You can also disconnect from the notification shade. HAPP shows a persistent notification while running. Tap "Disconnect" in that notification.

Useful HAPP settings

After your first connection, check a few settings that will improve stability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I download HAPP for Android?

HAPP is available on the Google Play Store. You can also download the APK from the official website happ.su if Google Play is unavailable in your region.

What should I do if the connection fails?

Check three things: your internet connection works, the link was copied completely (starts with vless://), and battery optimization is disabled for HAPP. If that does not help, request a new link through the bot.

Does HAPP drain a lot of battery?

No. HAPP uses the Android system VPN interface for routing traffic, but the encryption itself puts minimal load on the CPU. Battery consumption is comparable to regular browsing.

Can I use one link on multiple devices?

It depends on your plan. The standard plan allows one device. Multi-device plans are available through the Telegram bot.

Does HAPP require root access?

No. HAPP works without root privileges. The app uses the standard Android VPN API to redirect traffic.
